This garage has exceptionally good value for major scheduled maintenance work. Every other place I've been to for decades has started with a base quote of about (inflation adjusted) $400 for 75,000 mile work, so you would pay at least that amount plus pay for anything else they could find. Here, you only pay "a la carte," which means that you only pay for what you actually need done, so the cost was less than half what I expected. It was a very pleasant surprise! An update for late 2012: I had just had some recall work done by a dealer, in which they insisted that I also needed thousands of dollars of unrelated work done, including such nonsense as telling me to replace my perfectly functioning windshield wiper apparatus, not just the wiper inserts, and of course I refused. Ironically, a week later I struck a pothole and my "check engine" light came on. This time, I went to Winkler, not the dealer. They said that the light coming on might have been a fluke, and recommended that after they turned it off that I do nothing, because the alternative was to replace the entire transmission. I took their advice and my car runs fine now. I have no doubt that the dealer would have charged me several thousand dollars for a new transmission. Obviously, I'll trust Winkler for repairs and maintenance indefinitely.
