Good customer service

I have been trusting these fellas to take care of my cars & truck for over 10 years. I found them back in the days before Yelp by using the referral pages from the Car Talk show on NPR. There are plenty of glowing comments in these reviews about fair pricing and good customer service, so I’ll just say I agree 100% and get to my point. When it comes to Winkler Automotive, I can TRUST THEM. There are critical relationships in life where you need to trust people (doctors, plumbers, lawyers, auto mechanics, etc.) and these folks have EARNED my trust. They did that by only recommending the service(s) I needed, explaining things so that I understood, and doing exactly what they promised. Back when I took my vehicles to the dealership, I dreaded dealing with their constant upselling and obfuscating explanations. But now, I genuinely enjoy coming to Winkler and talking to the team there. I tell them what I want done, they fill in any gaps, and we end up with a plan I am happy with. If only everything in life was this easy!

I have been using Winkler Automotive for many years, both late model cars and minivans, and an older classic. The staff and service team have always provided friendly, professional and knowledgeable care for my vehicles. In addition, as a senior, it is always a pleasure to see and talk to Karim and Dino and they take care to provide their expertise and advice on sometimes complex automotive issues. And, if they don't have such expertise, they know and make referrals to those that do (somewhat a throwback to the Macy's / Kimballs play in Miracle on 34th St.).

I have been coming here for oil change and tire rotation so far. I love how they provide you with a check list and if something is not right, they take pictures to show you. The pricing is very reasonable (I have called other mechanics to compare prices for simple maintenance). This all together shows me honesty which I really appreciate. They won't force you to do anything and will discuss and respect your decision. The staff is very nice and will give you updates in person (if you're waiting) and through texts. Even though it takes me about 20 min to get to them, I will highly recommend them and keep coming back because of the wonderful service they provide. They even have a deal where 4th oil change is free which is a nice bonus.

To find a good / great auto service center is a major search task when one moves into a new area. Decided to give Winkler a go based on the online reviews and did not regret it a bit. Dino is courteous, welcoming and friendly. Things are explained upfront and communication is thorough - via phone, text or email. Their oil change program is good - 4th one is on them after the first 3. The prices are reasonably good compared to the area they serve and the work is top notch and honest - which is important in this field of work. Be sure to make an prior appointment as their might be a wait because they are busy because their work is good, and happy customers keep coming back to them.

Had a great experience! Dino was great! They emailed me a diagnostic analysis with pictures of my car on lift . They even have Rentals so I didn't have to miss work !!

My first time visiting. Their work is ok but customer service and employee communication is bad. I asked for a 100% synthetic oil change and the guy went on break and told his coworker synthetic blend instead so they have me the regular oil change. Their computer system was down— it happens, no problems— and told me they would email me the receipt. It’s been a week and I have yet to receive it yet I did receive a “review us” email.

Hello Mr Choi, Hello, Mr. Choi, I’m very sorry to hear that your first time experience wasn’t satisfactory. I see we did accommodate when you called us for a last minute oil change on Friday. Despite adequate protections, there was a very strong power surge Friday morning that affected many businesses in Gaithersburg. Unfortunately, our server's UPS didn't do so well, and our server was disabled. We were working all weekend to repair it and it was up and running by Monday. We had many receipts we had to email and send to our customers on Monday and I see that yours was sent that Monday afternoon as well. We aren’t open on the weekends so that was the earliest we could send it given the situation. As for the communication, a full synthetic oil change was recommended based on the type of vehicle you drive. It was our understanding you stated you do not drive the vehicle much and never use Full synthetic oil in your vehicle. You stated you do the rotation on your vehicle twice a year so using a lesser grade oil makes more sense since you change your oil twice a year and don’t reach the mileage of a full synthetic. Also the synthetic blend was circled with pen in front of you for the synthetic blend price. The “Review us” is automated after every service thus why it was sent so quickly. We always try and advise and give our customers a great experience and apologize the situation wasn’t what you expected. Unforeseen circumstances do happen that are out of our hands from time to time. If there are any concern we always strive to make it right. Thank you

I have an older dodge ram, and parts are difficult to come by. Dino was persistent with his supplier, managed to get the part. As difficult as it was he made the process as smooth as possible, keeping me informed at every stage.
